Flight Crews Reveal The Darkest Secrets of Flying

The Reason That Landings Are So Rough

You might feel that pilots often land pretty hard; the reason behind this is that the pilot sometimes needs to land harder to safely land the plane on a wet runway. If the pilot doesn’t land the aircraft hard, then the plane will have a chance to hydroplane, which wouldn’t be suitable for anyone.

Another reason why the pilot might land the plane hard is that they are new and just getting the hang of the controls. So don’t worry about the next time the pilot makes a hard landing as it’s probably for a good reason.
