Uber and Airbus Join Forces to Offer Helicopter Taxis for The Sundance Film Festival

Are you headed to the Sundance Film Festival in Utah and need a way to travel in style? Do you find the traditional automobile “too boring” for your needs? Do you not fear heights? Well if you answered “yes” to all three of those questions, then you might be in luck. Uber and Airbus have recently teamed up to offer helicopter taxis for the upcoming Sundance Film Festival on January 21st.

Uber has in the past worked with other aviation companies to provide helicopter services for customers, and this new pairing with Airbus is yet another move that shows they are committed to on-demand helicopter rides. The service will be available for those in and around the region of Park City, Utah, and it’s certainly very interesting.

Potential travelers will be picked up and then flown in either Airbus H125 or H130 helicopters, some of the brands most popular lightweight crafts. As you would normally order a regular Uber, simply open up the app and you can have a helicopter come get you.

This new project was created in hopes to see just how many people are interested in a service like this, and if there’s any room for expansion. Uber Chopper has proven too be successful in the past, so we imagine it will likely be the same case for Sundance. Unfortunately there’s no word on pricing, but typically on-demand helicopter taxis aren’t exactly “cheap”.
