Timeless Warren Buffett Quotes Worth Millions

Warren Buffet is one of the wealthiest men in the country, and in the world. He’s made his many billions making investments, on land and in real estate.  He’s a shrewd businessman with plenty of sense and intelligence, and he is well-known for his philanthropic endeavors. He’s also someone that makes a lot of sense. When Warren Buffet has something to say, it pays to listen. Here are five of his most successful quotes.

“A very rich person should leave his kids enough to do anything, but not enough to do nothing,”

It’s a wise quote that most people should listen to. The world would have far fewer celebutants with unlimited bank accounts and access to all kinds of trouble if they didn’t have unlimited funds. You shouldn’t leave your kids with nothing or provide them with so much in their childhood that they rely on you. Otherwise, they’ll never do for themselves.

“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently,”

If this isn’t the truth, nothing is. It takes one bad decision, one wrong move, one false start and you can ruin your entire reputation. It takes far longer to build something than it does to knock it down, and this is a rule that applies to anything in your life. It’s a concept of trust; without it, you have nothing.

“Of the billionaires I have known, money just brings out the basic traits in them. If they were jerks before they had money, they are simply jerks with a billion dollars,”

It’s true. Money buys a lot of things; nice clothes, nice material items, a nice appearance, even, but it doesn’t buy a nice attitude. Becoming rich and wealthy isn’t going to change your negative attitude or your unfortunate characteristics. You have to work hard to change those because you cannot purchase them.

“You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things wrong,”

While mistakes do make you more intelligent and more savvy, too many of them can make you sacrifice everything in your life. You live, you make mistakes, and you learn. You will eventually learn to do one or two things so well that they’ll pay off. And guess what? Sometimes, that’s all it takes.

“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get,”

There is a difference between price and value. You might think that paying less for something you need for a long time is better, but it’s not. However, you can pay less for something you trendy and then it all works out for you. Just remember this when you make your investments and spend your money.
