Amazon.com Is Offering One Hour Delivery in Manhattan

Amazon is a company that completely altered the way we purchase things online with their massive single catalog of nearly everything. The company has continued to find innovative ways to change and improve the retail business with Amazon Prime and their free two day shipping, but now Amazon is ready to take things to the next level. While the company is toying around with the idea of delivering packages from air drones right to customer’s doorsteps, they are starting up a one hour delivery service for a slightly higher price, which is a great deal and an amazing accomplishment.

The new one hour delivery system will initially only be offered in New York City as a trial run to see how many customers use the service. For those with Amazon Prime, which costs $99 for a year will get to use the one hour service for free, just like their two day delivery option, but for everyone else the one hour option will cost an additional $7.99 charge. This will, once again, completely shift how Amazon can be used by customers. If people need a last minute gift quickly or are too busy to go pick something up from a store, they can have it dropped off within the hour. The service is extremely convenient and it will be interesting to see how the trial period goes in Manhattan. Apparently the service will also include a two hour delivery for those within the specific area that is free with any purchase, and still a great option.

The service, called Prime Now, is going to start being offered in Manhattan, New York anywhere from 6 A.M to Midnight, seven days a week. The service will rely on which cities Amazon has distribution facilities in, but if people begin to consistently use the service and are buying more things from Amazon, the company will probably jump at the opportunity to expand.
