Breitling SA is a privately held Swiss company that designs and produces a variety of high-end chronograph watches. The company was first founded in 1884 by Leon Breitling in Gretchen, Switzerland where it is still headquartered today. Their watches were quickly well received, and were eventually highly sought after from aviators. Breitling is known for their extreme precision, even in the harshest conditions such as high up in the air, or underwater. One of their premier chronograph watches is the Super Avenger II, and it is really a magnificent timepiece.
The Super Avenger II from Breitling combines luxury and ruggedness in one amazing package. This is the second iteration of the Super Avenger and Breitling has improved the watch in almost every way. The watch is quite large an is 48mm in diameter with a very professional design. The watch itself is made from stainless steel that protects the watch and allows it to be water resistant to up to 1,000 feet. The watch also features a self-winding mechanical movement, a power reserve of 42 hours, 25 jewels, crystal sapphire glass, and a screw-locked crown. The movement is certified by the COSC, which is the highest industry benchmark for chronographs in relation to precision and reliability. The watch displays the date and the chronographs show increments of 1/4th seconds, 30 minutes, and 12 hours.
There are a few different version of this watch that have different color faces and slightly different aesthetic qualities such as numbers or lines in place of numbers. There is also a version that has an ocean racer strap that is marked more towards explorers, and one that has a brown leather strap. There is also a limited edition military version featuring a black military strap and black steel. If you want to go all out, then there is one version that has diamonds around the circumference of the watch. The Super Avenger II starts at around $6,000 dollars while the diamond version is around $12,000.
