Breitling Unveils a Timepiece Honoring General Aviation

Breitling has been around for ages, and it’s a brand that likes to do things big. Thinking outside the box, the company made the decision to unveil the new limited edition aviation timepiece in a unique way. The company chose an airplane hangar located at the Franklin Municipal Airport as the location for the unveiling of this new timepiece. The chronometer was designed in recognition of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s 75th anniversary celebration and their 60th anniversary of the partnership between them and the watch designer, and there are only a few of these watches available.

There are two versions of this gorgeous new watch available, and each one is designed to allow pilots to access every function they might need in flight. The concept behind this new watch is one that was designed in the early 1950s, and it comes with two different bands. The first is a solid steel band that retails for $7,655 and the other is a black leather strap that’s a little less expensive at just $6,500.

Breitling designed only 750 of these watches, and they are not available to the general public. To purchase this rare watch, you must be a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. The good news is that you don’t have to be a pilot or plane owner to become a member of the association, you need only have $49 to pay the membership dues and qualify you to become an owner of either of these watches. There are several benefits to purchasing this watch. The first is that each watch will be personalized with the name and membership number of each purchaser. The second is that a large portion of each sale is being donated to the Breitling Aviation Scholarship Fund, which helps pilots obtain their licenses.
