If you know a thing or two about fashion, in particular high fashion, then you probably know that every brand likes to make some ridiculous and expensive products. Now some of these products are expensive for a reason, while others are seemingly expensive because they have a specific brand name on the tag. One such example of the latter would be the tuxedo shirt from Yves Saint Laurent. It looks like any other novelty tuxedo shirt, except this one costs $450 dollars.
The Saint Laurent Tux Short-Sleeved T-shirt, as it is officially called, is one of the newest products from Yves Saint Laurent. It is a part of their recently launched “Surf Sound 2016” collection which is comprised of a range of products that have a punk rock/Southern California vibe to them. The shirt itself is just a standard 100% cotton t-shirt with a “distressed” tuxedo on the front. Besides it being made in Italy, it’s just a normal t-shirt…that costs $450 dollars.
Now it’s hard to figure out what this product is trying to say. Is it actually serious? Is this a high-end parody shirt? Or maybe it’s a parody of a parody shirt?
