American Airlines Launches New “Premium Economy” Class To Offer Customers More Choices

American Airlines International Premium Economy Class

American Airlines has recently announced that they will be introducing a new class in all of their wide body, international airplanes. They are calling it the “Premium Economy” class, and it will be a new section of seats that are positioned in-between business class and the standard economy class. Essentially it will be a middle class that offers more luxuries compared to economy but not as much as business class.

As airliners around the world are finding ways to offer a more comfortable flying experience, American Airlines hopes to draw in more customers with the addition of this new class. The Premium Economy class will offer guests more comfortable and wider seats, more legroom, on-demand entertainment, priority check-in/boarding, complimentary noise cancelling headphones, and more food and beverage options. As ticket prices for business class/first class seem to be reaching all new heights, hopefully this Premium Economy class will be a hit for guests that want to pay more money for a more comfortable flight, without breaking their banks.

American Airlines will first add this new class to their Boeing 787-9’s over the course of next year. They will then expand the Premium Economy class to other airplanes in 2017, and they expect to cover all of their airplanes over the course of three years. For fliers that just want  a more comfortable, yet still affordable seat, the Premium Economy class from American Airlines will surely please.
