Williams was also known for his philanthropy. Through his charity work, Williams made an impact on millions around the world. One of his biggest contributions was his collaboration with Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal to host Comic Relief USA. The annual HBO television benefit brought in various comedians to bring laughs to audiences while raising money for the homeless.
The actor also made various benefit appearances and donations to support literacy, women’s rights, veterans, as well as the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Williams didn’t stop there. He and his second wife Marsha Garces went on to start their own non-profit called the Windfall Foundation to raise money for various charities.
