Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. Her father’s Air Force career caused her to move around quite frequently as a youngster eventually landing in Claremont, California. After graduating high school at age 16, Alba attended the Atlantic Theater School.
Early on in her career Alba appeared in commercials and other small television appearances. Her big break came when she was picked out of 1,200 candidates for James Cameron’s Fox sci-fi television series Dark Angel. The show ran for two seasons earning Alba critical acclaim as well as a Golden Globe nomination.

That same year, Alba announced she’ll be releasing a book, The Honest Life, based on her experiences creating a toxin-free life for her family. The book has been released, but has not achieved Alba wild-success.
