
If we’re talking innovation on the railways then we’re staring at the Far East, particularly Japan. The first high-speed train service, first bullet train, and more – the world sits and waits for Japan to continue their innovative brilliance when it comes to all things trains.
According to reports, Japan’s latest innovation is a luxury sleeper train with open air deck. The report indicates that the West Japan Railway Co. is set to launch the latest brilliance railway masterpiece in the Spring of 2017. The open air deck on its rear is something unique that has not been done before on the Japanese railway. The target market for the newest train is affluent, retired people who wish to relax and enjoy the sights and take in the fresh air from the deck.
The train will be painted in green so it blends in with the environment. The train itself will be divided into 10-cars to accommodate 30 passengers – with six of the cars being sleepers. Some of the luxury suites in the cars will include a bedroom, lounge and shower. There will also be a dining car, lounger and two viewing cars.
It sounds like a nice way to travel doesn’t it?
