Tortillas

Tortillas are a staple in many cuisines, and while they may be found in the refrigerated section of grocery stores, they actually do not need to be refrigerated at home. The main reason is that tortillas are typically cooked or heated before consumption, which kills any bacteria that may have developed on them.
Unlike other baked goods like bread or pastries, tortillas have a low moisture content which makes it difficult for mold to grow. The cold air inside the fridge removes moisture from the tortillas and can leave them brittle and less flavorful.
