A Glance at the Cirrus Vision SF50

Cirrus Vision SF50

Cirrus Aircraft is a private American company that produces a range of different airplanes. Their newest model plane is the Cirrus Vision SF50 and it is quite a unique little plane. The company created this jet as they felt that there was a large gap to fill between high-performance single piston airplanes and small jets. The Cirrus Vision SF50 offers a unique experience that is packaged into a revolutionary aircraft.

Cirrus Aircraft wanted to create a vehicle that would provide pilots with an easy transition from high-performance prop planes, to small jet planes. They wanted to create an airplane that was robust, straightforward, and simple to pilot and thus the Vision SF50 was born. The first thing one notices about this airplane is the unique design, especially the tail which is shaped like a V. Despite the interesting design, the plane is still easy to fly.

The Cirrus Vision SF50 is truly an interesting and unique plane. Based on the size and weight of this small jet, the Vision SF50 is actually in its own class of airplanes. The Vision is small like many propeller planes, however it is not as large as private or small jets. The Vision can carry up to five adults and two children, in addition to carrying some luggage. Being a small jet produced today, the aircraft is outfitted with plenty of computers and state-of-the-art systems provided by Garmin, making it very much a modern airplane.

The Vision SF50 is priced at $1.96 million dollars and Cirrus is expected to start shipping units in the fourth quarter of 2015. This aircraft is pretty amazing and offers a good balance of functionality, luxury, and performance. The jet is marketed at wealthy adventurers who can afford to pilot such an airplane. At the end of the day, the Vision SF50 will be the best way for pilots to make the transition between prop planes to small, personal jets. Check out this video from Cirrus to see it in action:
