There are many different motorcycle companies and brands out there, but only a few are American. While other countries like Japan dominate the sport bike scene, American motorcycles certainly dominate the cruising and grand touring motorcycle scene. American motorcycles are known for their loud and large engines. Sounds from some bikes like Harley’s, are copied as other companies try to capture that essence that makes those bikes unique. There are many different motorcycle brands in America, however we are going to look at five that we feel are the absolute best.
5. Orange County Choppers
Based out of Newburgh , New York is the famous Orange County Choppers. These guys have been building custom motorcycles for some time, and have even had their own popular television show. They are known for their unique bikes and their amazing designs. There really are no other motorcycles like the ones Orange Country Choppers make.
4. Confederate Motors
Confederate Motors is a relatively young company, however they are worth mentioning as they produce some incredible custom motorcycles that are very unique. Their bikes cost around $90,000 dollars and are some of the nicest custom motorcycles for those not looking for a chopper styled bike. They are based out of Alabama and only produce around 30-40 bikes per year, making them extremely rare and limited.
3. Victory Motorcycles
Located in Spirit Lake, Iowa is Victory Motorcycles. The company formed in 1997, and has already established themselves as a prominent American motorcycle brand. The company is a subsidiary of Polaris and formed to directly compete with Harley-Davidson.
2. Indian Motorcycles
Indian Motorcycles have always been an iconic American motorcycle brand for awhile. The company was founded all the way back in 1901 and produced some amazing bikes until they unfortunately went bankrupt in 1953. The company has recently been revived and they produce bikes based directly off of their amazing classics.
1. Harley-Davidson
Last but certainly not least we have Harley-Davidson. Obviously these guys were going to take the number one spot as not only are they one of the most popular and iconic American motorcycle brands, but one of the most popular motorcycle brands in the world. You will see most non-sport riders in America on a Harley, and theres a reason why. They have a wide range of products and a bike to meet anyones needs. They are easily the best American motorcycle brand around, and have been for some time.
