What is the Most Prized Harley Davidson Motorcycle of All-Time?

Harley Davidson Motorcylce

Harley-Davidson is arguably one of the most, if not the most famous motorcycle company to have ever existed. Their bikes have always been classics, and the company has developed a cult-like following that has propelled them into the modern era as a preeminent motorcycle company. Based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the company formed in 1903 and set out to produce small motor-bicycles for the everyday person, having no idea how much of an impact the company would eventually make. Over Harley-Davidson’s rich history, we have seen many different bikes produced. Some were instant hits, while others were just okay. Still, the brand loyalty that Harley-Davidson posses is so strong that even their “okay” bikes are still well received. So what about the most iconic and prized Harley-Davidson motorcycle ever? When you look at all of the various motorcycles that Harley-Davidson has released over the years, it is very difficult to pick which bike is the most prized, as there are just so many good bikes to choose from. Either way, whatever bike you do choose will most likely anger some Harley-Davidson fans who prefers another model. There are many great and famous Harley-Davidson motorcycles, however we feel that the most “prized” Harley-Davidson was the 1915 11F.

Harley-Davidson 1915 11F

As the name implies, the 1915 11F was introduced by Harley-Davidson in 1915 and quickly became one of the companies best selling motorcycles of all time. The 1915 11F featured a 61 cubic-inch F-head, V-twin engine that at the time was very sophisticated. While this was not Harley-Davidson’s first V-twin, it was definitely the first proper V-twin. The engine was also advanced because it featured an automatic oiler and massive intake valves that helped it achieve a total of eleven horsepower. The motorcycle also featured a magneto and an electrical light system, which at the time were pretty revolutionary. The tail light could even be removed to be used as a personal flashlight, which you have to remember would be pretty awesome considering it was 1915 when this bike came out. So what made this Harley so special? The Harley-Davidson 1915 11F is one of the most important motorcycles that the company ever put as it was their first true motorcycle. The 1915 11F featured a three-speed transmission. That transmission took the company from producing bicycles that happened to have a motor on them, to producing proper motorcycles. The bike was immensely important for the company, as it was the first true motorcycle that the company ever produced, which is why we feel that it is the most prized Harley-Davidson of all time.
