Which are The Fastest Motorcycles of All-Time?

Ninja H2R 1

Motorcycles have always been known to be some the the highest performing motor vehicles that money can buy. While many of them will not achieve a top speed as fast as a supercar, a $14,000 sports bike would destroy any Lamborghini or Ferrari in a drag race. Motorcycles can achieve these incredible acceleration times as they have amazing power to weight ratios, as most bikes are pretty lightweight. We are going to look at two motorcycles which are the fastest in either top speed or acceleration.

KillaCycle

The first motorcycle that we are going to look at is the KillaCycle. The KillaCycle is a specially made, one-of-a-king motorcycle that is used exclusively in drag racing. What makes the KillaCycle so spectacularly fast is that it is an all-electric motorcycle. As we know, electric vehicles are faster than combustion vehicles as all of the electric vehicles power is instantly available. The KillaCycle boasts an absurd electric motor that has over 500 horsepower. That engine allows the KillaCycle to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in an insane 0.97 seconds. This motorcycle can beat out most F1 cars in terms of acceleration. However the bike does not have the fastest top speed in the world, as the fastest it was ever recorded traveling was 174 mph.

Ninja H2R

The next motorcycle that we are going to look at is the amazing Kawasaki Ninja H2R. The Kawasaki Ninja line has been very successful and the H2R is easily the beat one ever made. The vehicle costs $50,000 dollars and you can only drive it on a race track as it is not even street legal. Aside from being made pretty much entirely from carbon fiber, and packing a bunch of other futuristic materials, this bike has a supercharged 998cc inline-4 engine. That engine is pretty much the most powerful combustion engine ever put in a motorcycle. The bike has well over 300 horsepower and is extremely lightweight. The bike is just finally rolling out, so while there is no official data yet, the bike will most likely accelerate from 0-60 mph close to 2 seconds flat, and Kawasaki believes that it will be able to hit speeds over 250 miles per hour. Unlike the KillaCycle this is very much a track bike, so it can make turns on a dime rather than just go in a straight line really fast. Check out this video of the bike in action:
