The iPhone 6 has been another successful product for Apple and is still consistently selling to new customers everyday. The phone is such a well selling product that Apple is anticipating millions in sales this year alone and will probably even release a 6S version of the phone sometime in the Fall. As a result, it’s no surprise that the iPhone 6 has been modded and tweaked by third party companies that resell them for a much higher price. The company Gold Genie has done exactly this, and applied their turn anything to gold service to the latest cell phone from Apple.
Gold Genie is a company strictly dedicated to taking items and covering them completely in gold to give customers extremely luxurious products. The iPhone 6 is coated with 24 karat gold as well as diamonds and can cost between $15,300 and $3.5 million depending on which one the customer gets and how many diamonds it includes. Users can choose between a selection of 24 karat yellow gold, rose gold or platinum along with the diamond amount.
The company makes each phone individually based on when they are ordered. The process requires this because the customer needs to specify what types of gold and diamonds they want so making a large quantity would create extra unnecessary inventory for Gold Genie. On top of creating these stunning phones, Gold Genie also offers people the choice of having a personal message engraved onto the back of the phone. Other companies also take advantage of this market and customize phones for additional profit. The Alexander Amosu pink iPhone 6 costs $2,850, which isn’t as much as the 24 karat gold version, but is still an extremely profitable upgrade.
The gold iPhone is pretty pricey for what customers are getting; especially considering it offers no improvement to the phone internally or how it preforms. Having a 24 karat gold iPhone 6 is pretty neat though, and there are plenty of people out there that are willing to spend the money to have their Apple product be more luxurious than the original.
