In one of the more interesting stories of the week, Emirates Airlines has taken a huge step in trying to attract customers in what has been a struggling industry. We’re not talking about an extra pillow, better food mid-flight, or even an upgraded entertainment system. What we’re talking about is something we’ve never seen before in the industry.
Emirates has designed an innovative way to attract customers – Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, launched the newest Emirates Official Store that includes the Emirates A380 Experience at the Dubai Mall, the world’s most-visited mall. In addition to merchandise at the store, it house’s their second public flight simulator.
The Airbus A380 is currently the best and most modern aircraft in the friendly skies and Emirates has the most, 47, in their entire fleet. The actual simulator offers the public a unique experience and thrill of flying an aircraft including taking off and landing at 12 of the world’s most popular airports. The first such flight simulator was built in London last year and received great reviews.
It’s an interesting ploy to get customers to fly your airline, but these days airlines have to do what they have to do to get clients. It seems like a rather lavish measure, but if it works it works.
