Airbus is a well known French manufacturer of commercial airplanes that are often regarded as some of the best in the world. The company is very large and they provide their airplanes to various airliners across the globe. The company has recently made the news as they have just launched a brand new jet.
Known as the Airbus A321NEO 97T, this new airplane from the company will offer consumers solid levels of comfort and functionality, but most importantly the new plane will be able to achieve some of the longest, non-stop flights in the world. The Airbus A321NEO 97T is a relatively small jet compared to others, as it is a single-aisle jet.
The biggest selling feature of this new airplane is its ability to achieve long-ranged flights, and it now has the longest range of all single-aisle jets in the entire world. With a total range of 4,000 nautical miles, or 4,603.1 miles, this jet can easily achieve many trans-Atlantic flights. The Airbus A321NEO will allow many airlines to break into the long-range aircraft market, which is a growing market across the world.
The jet can achieve such a long range due to an additional fuel tank, improved wing and fuselage design, and fuel-saving engines. Airbus claims this jet will be able to reduce fuel consumption by 20% compared to other jets within the same class. While oil is relatively inexpensive now, it will inevitably go up again so that statistic is huge.
The new airbus can comfortably accommodate 206 passengers total and their luggage. We should expect to see the first A321NEO’s delivered by 2019. The Air Lease Corporation, a lessor of jets and aircraft from Los Angles, has officially become the first customer to order the new jet and they are fully committing to it as they have ordered 30 of these airplanes.
