Chiptole is a restaurant chain that specializes in making made-to-order burritos, quesadillas , and other Mexican food. Chiptole first came onto the scene in 1993 in Colorado and since then has opened up over 1,600 restaurants around the world, providing customers with solid food that is sure to fill you up. Chipotle is a hallmark of hip and casual dining that is somewhere in-between fast food and a normal restaurant. However, there are many new restaurants on this scene that are popping up all over the county. We are going to take a look at 5 restaurants that could be the next Chipotle.
5. Shake Shack
Starting out as a food cart based in Madison Square Park, the first restaurant on our list is Shake Shack. Known for having some of the best milk shakes in its industry, Shake Shack has become very popular and now has locations popping up all over the country. In addition to their milk shakes, Shake Shack also serves a variety of burgers, hand-cut french fries, hot dogs, and soft serve ice cream. One can also purchase bottled/tap beers and wine at Shake Shack, making them a desirable food location.
4. Honeygrow
Next up on our list is the up-and-coming Philadelphia based Honeygrow. This small fast-casual restaurant chain provides patrons with healthy, made to order stir fry, salads, and smoothies. Customers come in and design their own meals off of a touch screen system, allowing them to choose exactly what they want in their food. Serving ingredients from local farms, Honeygrow is a restaurant to definitely check out. Unfortunately they are only located in the Philadelphia region but are looking to expand.
3. PieOlogy
PieOlogy is the next restaurant on our list that you should watch. PieOlogy is a made-to-order custom pizzeria providing customers with great tasting, personalized pizzas in “five minutes or less”. Serving pizzas and salads, PieOlogy allows its customers to order the exact pizza that they want with no fuss. Located primarily on the west coast, PieOlogy is one pizzeria that you need to try.
2. Boloco
Next up on our list is Boloco. This burrito chain originating out Boston has been providing patrons with unique burritos, wraps, salads, and smoothies since 1997. This may seem like a Chiptole ripoff, however Boloco is very different. Boloco serves food with culinary influences and ingredients from around the world such as Mexican, Japanese, Thai, and the Mediterranean region making them a truly unique experience.
1. Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Hopdoddy Burger Bar is not your average burger joint. This fast-casual dining restaurant provides patrons with a unique menu of original burgers that are very different from competitors. Things like the “Greek burger” with lamb, feta cheese, arugula, red onions, tomatoes , cucumbers, and tzatziki sauce or the “Ahi Tuna Burger” with sushi-grade tuna, sprouts, terriyaki sauce and wasabi come to mind. This unique burger joint also serves up local beer and wine to wash down your burgers. The Texas base chain is on the rise and looking to expand, and it is a restaurant that you don’t want to miss out on.
