Yannick Alleno Wins Chef of the Year Award

World-renowned chefs pose for a photograph at Nespresso's Grand Chef Rendezvous Dinner

Yannick Alleno is a world renowned French chef that has been practicing the craft of food and drink since the young age of 15. He has studied under some of the world’s greatest chefs and has since become one himself. He tries to bridge the gap between modern creativity and classic traditional cuisine styles. All of Yannick Alleno’s hard work has been paying off and the famous chef has been awarded the Chef of the Year award for 2015 but known French restaurant guide Gault&Millau.

In 2007, Alleno earned his third Michelin star which continues to display how great of a career the chef has had. He first began getting notice back in 2003 where he received his first mention in Gault&Millau, and slowly started to crawl up the rankings until he finally received a “five toques” rating from the guide in 2010, which is the highest achievable. Alleno has been consistently receiving top ratings from the guide since 2007 so it’s not too shocking to see him earning this award.

Alleno himself was very surprised, but is happy to see that despite changing restaurants they were still able to properly assess the chef and his entire staff. Alleno continues to strive to be better and thinks this proves he is off to a good start and is doing all the right observation and research.

Alleno is currently operating Alleno Paris, located in the Pavillion Ledoyen right in the Champs-Elysees, where he is the culinary director. The restaurant receives a ton of praise, but Alleno is also splitting his time to be the chef at the “1947” located in CHeval Blanc, Courchevel, the Beijing Shangri-La as well as the 101 Tower in Taipei. Alleno has also been able to write multiple books about his life and experiences in the culinary industry, despite having a full plate schedule each day.
