A Tiny Startup pCell Can Make Your Cell Phone’s Wireless Data 1000x Faster Than 4G

Fackbook Acquires WhatsApp For $16 Billion

Do you ever get frustrated with your cell phone carrier’s 4G wireless data speed? What if we told you there was a tiny tech startup that could make dropping bars a thing of the past? I’d say I’m all in…. pCell is a new wireless technology that claims they have “reinvented” wireless data. The company started just three years ago and is based in Palo Alto, California. The engineers at Artemis Research claim they have created a technology that could make 4G look like snail mail.

The first users who get to try and use the pCell service will be in San Francisco. Artemis is currently partnered with an unnamed wireless partner and will be seeking to release how pWaves can be deployed at a scale significantly less than the tradition cell phone towers.

Artemis, to make their technology stick, is going to have to work with Apple and even Google. There’s simply no chance that their technology will be adopted if they don’t latch on to one of the more popular brands in the world today. The concept is you’ll be able to work all day and receive data at lightspeed in designated pCell areas than switch back to 4G when needed. It’ll be interesting to see if this technology is adopted. They get Apple – they’re in.
