If you’re not much of a camper, Orenda may have just the answer for you. While it’s not the Four Seasons, it’s certainly not sleeping in a sleeping back on a patch of leaves under the stars. The authentic backcountry retreat nestled in 40 acres of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York opened it’s 2014 season last week – and is offering a luxurious take on camping.

Orenda has renovated its offerings to guests that now includes a sixth canvas cabin that can accommodate three guests. The cabin includes a kitchen, on-site activities like archery and brilliantly beautiful nature walks. The Adirondacks are truly one of America’s best kept secrets for those seeking beauty. It has a beautiful fusion of woodlands, mountains, and pristine waters as you start to enter the lake region.

The beauty of Orenda is they offer six spacious yet cozy canvas cabins that don’t disturb the idea of camping and being in nature. The cabins, as mentioned above, really create an upgrade from the traditional tent and sleeping bag on the ground. Guests can choose from queen bed or two single beds, while all cabins include a fire-burning stove, fresh linens, and a stockpile of freshly cut firewood. For those of you overly concerned with hygiene, Orenda offers beautiful cedar private showers and washrooms as well.

On top of all the great accommodations, Orenda offers a variety of activities that include white-water rafting, rock-climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and guided excursions. The cost to stay with Orenda in the Adirondacks starts at $190 for adults and $100 for children.
