Many companies within the airline industry are offering a range of airplanes to cater to a growing demographic of those that want to travel in luxury. The well known airliner Virgin Atlantic is also offering guests many premium accommodations on board their all new 787 Dreamliner’s. While Boeing came up with the name “Dreamliner”, what Virgin Atlantic has done with these new planes is what really defines them as a luxury aircraft.

These new 787’s have larger cabins, bigger windows, improved climate control, and they offer a quieter ride. Design manager of the new planes, Nik Lusardi, describes them as “a game changer for us, it’s the most cutting edge plane out there”. As soon as guests board the new planes they immediately will notice the purple and orange ambient lights that give the airplane a very unique and comfortable atmosphere. All seats boast their own televisions, comfortable chairs, and more. The airplanes are also outfitted with international WiFi and USB ports so passengers can stay connected at all times.

The more expensive “seats” are actually small pods that can be converted into beds. Obviously for long-distance flights, this is a great feature to have. Virgin Atlantic also put in many other cutting-edge features like window dimmers that change and can be aligned with passengers body clocks, for example. In the upper classes there are even a few lounge spaces, a snack room, and a bar for guests to interact with each other.

All-in-all these new 787 Dreamliner’s are absolutely amazing and certainly are very luxurious. Virgin Atlantic wanted to offer jets that were more premium than others; jets that ensured that no matter where you were sitting, you would be extremely comfortable. In that regard, they have certainly succeeded with these new planes and we look forward to seeing them rolled out over the next few years.
