The 1993 Dom Perignon Vintage is Some of the Best Wine Relative to Price

Retailers Hope For Strong Christmas Season

There are many different brands and companies involved in the fine wine and champagne industry, many of which have been around for a number of years. These older companies have an advantage, because as most know, wine gets better the longer it ages. Moët & Chandon is one of these companies, as they were first founded in 1743 by fine wine trader, Claude Moët under the reign of King Louis XV. Operated by the Moët & Chandon company is the brand Dom Pérignon, one of the finest makers of quality champagne in the world. Dom Pérignon is Moët & Chandon nicest champagne brand, and also their most expensive.

Dom Pérignon is prominently known for their various vintages that are released every few years. Vintage wines are wines that are made entirely from grapes grown in one specific year. They are also known for being of a higher quality than other wines, and typically are older in age. The first vintage produced by Dom Pérignon was in 1921 and they have produces vintages every few years since then. If you want a decently aged bottle of  vintage Dom Pérignon champagne, then you should look at those produced in 1993.

The 1993 vintages are at a quality price point given their age and how old they are. Unfortunately this is not a wine that you can just go to a store and buy. You have to purchase this wine through auction houses, as they are in limited numbers. Currently an average bottle of 1993 Dom Pérignon goes for $260 dollars. While that may be expensive for some, that is an extremely fair price for a 21 year old wine, of which is made by one of the finest champagne companies. The cost of a bottle is dependent on a variety of factors like the quality of the bottles contents, the cork, any damage the bottle or label sustained, and if the bottle was stored properly. For a larger magnum sized bottle (about the same volume as two bottles of wine), be prepared to drop around $550. A case of this wine will run you anywhere from $1,200 to $1,700 dollars.
