Tesla Reveals one of the Fastest Cars on the Planet, a 691-hp Model S

Tesla motors has just recently unveild a new version of their Model S. The Model S is a 4-door coupe style sedan that offers decent amount of luxury and sportiness packed into a contemporary and stylish body. The real selling feature however is that the vehicle is powered entirely by electricity. Electric vehicles have been on the rise and as more and more of these vehicles are adopted we will see more innovation within the electric motor vehicle industry. Tesla has been one of the forerunners within this industry and their Model S and has just recently launched a new version of this car that is insanely fast.

Electric powered vehicles may lack in their total overall range however they are superior to combustion cars in terms of acceleration. Combustion engine need to take time switching through gears while all of the power in an electric vehicle is instantly on demand. Tesla’s new Model S P85D was recently unveiled and while retaining the appearance of the Model S, this version packs a lot of power. The car has a crazy 691 horse power within the vehicle that accelerates itself to 60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds. The car accelerates about as fast as a McLaren F1 and is faster than a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Ferrari California T. Due to the insane acceleration that this car posses it is within the ranks of supercars in terms of acceleration and speed.

The vehicles impressive acceleration is not the only interesting thing about the Model S P85D. The vehicle also features semi-autonomous driving capabilities. The computer systems within the vehicle can turn itself on slight gradient turns, come to a complete stop, and even read speed signs and it adjusts its speed accordingly. Tesla refers to it as “auto pilot”. This makes the car a truly impressive vehicle that really differentiates itself from competitors. The car can travel 275 miles on a full charge which is a slight improvement over the previous version of the Model S. The vehicle has a base price of $120,170 dollars.
