Aeropostale Welcomes YouTube Celebrity Bethany 'Macbarbie07' Mota At Exclusive Meet & Greet

Aeropostale is a clothing company that can be found in shopping malls and aims to attract the teen and young adult crowd. Aeropostale can be found all over the United States and they have 78 stores in Canada as well as other locations around the world. The company was founded in 1973 and has grown large enough where they are now pulling in billions each year. They are a staple store in most malls and are a top brand for teenage kids around the country. Here are five things you didn’t know about Aeropostale.

5. They opened an upscale subsidiary

Aeropostale once opened a subsidiary company called Jimmy’Z that was aimed to sell clothing to skaters and surfers. It was considered to be a slightly higher end brand compared to Aeropostale. Jimmy’Z had higher prices but was shut down in 2009.

4. The company has partnered with musicians

In the past, Aeropostale has partnered with both the Black Eyed Peas and Fall Out Boy to help aid in brand awareness and promote awareness for different causes. The Fall Out Boy campaign offered consumers an exclusive t-shirt, a beach towel, and more depending on the price spent while the Black Eyed Peas campaign was a t-shirt and CD that benefited their “peapod” foundation.

3. They started Teens for Jeans

This campaign raised awareness of teen homelessness and had people donating a ton of used jeans to give to those in need. It was very successful and eventually ended up raising over a million pairs of jeans by its fifth year.

2. They are a great company to work for

Aeropostale has a great record of being a place that people enjoy working. Last year, the company was listed on Fortune’s top 100 companies to work for which gave them a huge boost and attention. The workplace is relaxed and the company wants their employees to like working there.

1. They’ve had quite a few legal issues

The company has dealt with four legal issues over the years, with two of them being relatively minor. Three of the lawsuits dealt with patent infringement and were not that harmful to the company. The biggest lawsuit came with a scandal revolving around their former executive vice president.
