Home Depot is the largest home improvement retailer in the world and offers all products people would need to build, design, or fix for a living space. Over the years they have been constantly making acquisitions of smaller companies to upgrade their product base and expand the company further. The amount for most of their acquisitions have been kept private, but these are five noteworthy acquisitions by Home Depot.

5. RedBeacon 

RedBeacon is a company that is a database where users can find and book home service providers for any needs they have. RedBeacon is a great acquisition that allows people to quickly find services they need for home fix anything they need without any hassle of searching for multiple companies and the best prices.

4. Home Decorators Collection

The details of this deal were also undisclosed, but back in 2006 Home Depot acquired the small company Home Decorators Collection. At the time, this business only had six stores but a major web sales market that brought them in $192 million in sales.

3. BlackLocus 

In 2012 Home Depot acquired the small start up company BlackLocus. This company builds technology that that aids retail companies in adjusting their pricing based on data collected from their products. Details on how much Home Depot paid for the company were not made available to the public; however, Black Locus had secured $2.5 million in funding at the time and has been operating successfully during and after the acquisition.

2. Blinds.com 

The acquisition of Blinds.com happened earlier this year in January 2014 and is Home Depot’s most recent acquisition. Blinds.com is the largest online window coverings retailer around the entire globe. The acquisition allowed for Home Depot to enter into the online blinds market and grow with a stable company.

1. Home Systems 

Home Systems was acquired by Home Depot in 2012 and is the only acquisition that they company has released details about. Home Depot paid 95 million to purchase Home Systems; a company that produces, sells, and installs their own home improvement products.
