Television is currently a powerhouse for media these days and there is a ton of money coming through the entire market. Really well-done television shows are on the rise with series like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones while other channels are finding that the general public loves reality TV of any kind, and on top of all this is live sports. With that, let’s take a look at the most valuable TV networks in the world.

5. Disney Channel – $9.3 Billion

Disney is the top channel among families and young children, but there shows offer a very general appeal which is how they have found success. The company switched to the route of releasing mainly live action shows with actors and actresses that they could turn into future brands like Miley Cyrus with Hannah Montana (not anymore though). The company sees a lot of views during the holiday seasons probably because they have such a wide array of modern and classic films to offer for everyone.

4. TBS – $9.6 Billion

TBS is owned by Time Warner Cable and is known for its variety of sitcom shows such as Cougar Town or Sullivan and Sons while also offering tons of widely viewed shows throughout the daytime hours. Another big draw for TBS is their collection of films that are on pretty might nightly and deliver some great films, especially when there is nothing else on of interest.

3. Fox News – $11.4 Billion

Fox News is a huge channel that draws a lot of positive and negative attention, but as the saying goes, “no press is bad press.” The channel offers 15 hours of live television every day that reaches out to over 102 million people worldwide. Fox News is very interactive with their website and making sure to offer transparent news that can be easily navigated so if you see something on TV that is important and want to share it, the website will have it.

2. TNT – $13 Billion

TNT is another property of Time Warner Cable and offers a ton of different original shows for its viewers. TNT knows drama… and they are constantly running a mixture of their original programming as well as syndicated reruns of classic drama hits like Law & Order, CSI, and The Mentalist. TNT is organized exactly like its sister station TBS and is playing a bunch of movies during the night time but from different distributors than TBS.

ESPN is the king of television right now. The company is the only well established sports news outlet that is out there and nothing can seem to compete with their widely watched hit show SportsCenter. Aside from their plethora of sports shows, ESPN is one of the main hubs to watch live sports on offering certain games in all of the major sports and even hosting events such as the World Cup while they are happening. ESPN is currently valued at $40 billion and is continuing to be worth more and more.
