It’s that time of year again. You know the ones where celebrities and billionaires alike decide to flaunt their wealth but for a good cause? That’s right, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation is staging its second annual auction gala in Saint-Tropez with all proceeds going directly to the foundation’s environmental protection programs. While the highlight of this auction is an eco-friendly estate home on DiCaprio’s private island in Belize, there are also other items of note.
It’s been reported that there are major art items up for auction, as well as a handful of “once-in-a-lifetime-experiences” that include a one-on-one match with Roger Federer. You can also go on an arctic expedition with Albert II Prince of Monaco. Or how about going backstage at Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour in 2016? And if that doesn’t interest you then you can sit in a private box next to David Beckham at Wembley Stadium during an English national soccer game.
And that’s not all. Grammy Award winner John Legend will get on stage for entertainment. Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson and Elton John will also be seen in attendance of this year’s event, which is cosponsored by Chopard and Giorgio Armani. During the foundation’s first event last year, a walk-on role in one of DiCaprio’s upcoming films sold twice for $2.4 million, while Bono’s personal guitar went for $1 million.
We’re not sure how much someone is going to pony up to play Federer but it’s gotta be in the seven figures. We’ll keep you posted!
