A 40,000 Person Waiting List is One Reason Emirates Stadium is Football’s Most Successful

Emirates Stadium

Emirates Stadium is located in Holloway, London, England and is primarily used and known for being the home stadium of the English Premiere League’s Arsenal Football Club. The stadium was opened back in 2006 and was a major upgrade for the soccer club to a larger modern complex. The stadium brings in a ton of money and is always doing well because of its design to accommodate guests with luxury and comfort. Here are five reasons why Emirates Stadium is football’s most successful.

5. They plan to expand

The stadium has 40,000 people on the waiting list to purchase Arsenal season tickets. They have pushed the stadium’s capacity to the absolute limit with 60,272 during the 2014-15 season, but talks of large expansion are in the works. It could cost around $96 million but could completely change how much the stadium pulls in.

4.  They listened to the fans

People wanted the Emirates Stadium to really show off that it was the home to Arsenal. The program was called “Arsenalisation” which was turning the stadium into everything Arsenal. The seats were reorganized to display the Arsenal canon logo while shrines of players can be found all around. The entire place offers more to see and do than just watch the game and get some food.

3. The attendance is always good

No matter what is happening at the stadium, people always seem to fill the seats. The Arsenal team is currently in the middle of the pack and two games back of .500, but have big stars that people want to see play.

2. There is an increasing revenue

Since moving to the new stadium in 2006, there has been an ever increasing revenue stream. While Arsenal was in their old stadium the revenue was at around $60 million USD and rose to well above 144.4 million with the new stadium. Since then, the team has still been seeing success and as mentioned in the previous, fans are still coming out.

1. They rent the space for other events

As mentioned before, Emirates Stadium has a constantly rising revenue, and a big reason for that is because they rent out the large spaces for other events. Other conferences, exhibitions, and events can be planned and held at the Emirates Stadium. This allows them to generate more money and make sure the space is getting used when soccer is not in season.
