The 12 Wealthiest Cities in The United States

The 12 Wealthiest Cities in The United States

Have you ever wondered where your city ranks in terms of the wealthiest within the United States? Well chances are if you live in the North East in a major U.S. city, you’re probably already in one of the richest. But what about the rest of the country? Each year the company known as Capgemini examines each city in the United States and determines where the majority of high-net worth individuals live, how much they make, and how much they’re worth. They then take a look at their findings and rank the 12 richest cities in the United States accordingly.

Their findings were mostly unsurprising, as New York City came out on top yet again. However there were a few interesting results as well, namely Detroit made the list, despite often being stereotyped as one of the most impoverished cities in the United States. In terms of areas where high net worth individuals grew their wealth, Texas and the West Coast led the pack. Additionally in 2014 (as the data is from last year), high net worth individuals increased their overall wealth at around 9.4%. Also the number of high net worth individuals reach some 4.4 million Americans. But without further ado, here are the 12 richest cities in the United States according to Capgemini:

12. Seattle: 98,500 high net worth individuals with a combined wealth of $348 billion
