Meet Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Talented Older Sister Randi Zuckerberg

Inside The South By Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival

For those of you who know what it’s like to be overshadowed by a sibling than you feel for Randi Zuckerberg. It can’t be any easier when that overshadowing is coming from a younger sibling either. However, you can guarantee the older sister of billionaire Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg isn’t complaining. Why? She’s pretty darn successful in her own right.

Zuckerberg got her career started by working with her younger brother, but she surprisingly left the company in 2011. Why she would leave the social media giant? She wanted to sing on Broadway – which must laughed at. Unsurprisingly because it seems like success runs in the family, it wasn’t long before she stepped out on stage as Regina in the Broadway show ‘Rock of Ages’.

Fast foward, CEO Randi Zuckerberg is not to be confused with CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Randi is now the head of Zuckerberg Media and the editor-and-chief of Dot Complicated, a digit lifestyle website. Randi will be the first to admit that her younger brother’s success gave her opportunities, but overcoming the fear of failure was something she figured out early on. Something that can easily be attributed to her success.

“We’re going to fail. We’re going to get rejected by people. So you know what? You know that’s done with now–you know that’s going to happen. You don’t have to let that paralyze you anymore because it’s a certain that’s going to happen.”

Zuckerberg who gives public speeches regularly just got done with two appearances in New York City. She’s a fascinating story and while she’s not a billionaire like Mark, she’s every bit a success in her own right.
