Floating Pop-Up Restaurant in Cannes

If you find yourself along the Croisette in Cannes this week, keep your eyes open for something you’ve never seen before. In honor of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, San Pellegrino is doing something that’s never been done before. The famous sparkling water maker is opening a restaurant for approximately four days. Now, it’s no big secret that most restaurants fail within the first year, but this one is only open from May 15-19, so there’s no time for it to fail. As a matter of fact, this restaurant will only feed 400 guests and getting a reservation here is going to be quite difficult.

The concept of the restaurant is, quite simply, ingenious. Seven luxury boats will anchor in the Bay of Cannes, where it will open for lunch or dinner, calling itself the Trattoria al Mare S.Pellegrino.  Each boat can accommodate four or six guests – no more, no less. To make a reservation, however, you’ll have to call a confidential phone number. The number will be posted in strategic locations along the Croisette beginning May 14. If you see the number, you can call it to make your reservations. The best part? The meal is absolutely free to all who are lucky enough to find the number and make a reservation.

This pop-up restaurant will feature a unique dining experience created by Italian chef Marco Stabile and French chef Alain Llorca. The items on this exceptional menu are, as yet, unknown. However, if you are one of the lucky 400 guests to dine aboard this pop-up floating restaurant, you surely will not find yourself disappointed in the meal. This is the first time that San Pellegrino has partnered with some of the top chefs in the world to create a short-lived restaurant, but no one knows if it will be the last.
