Leilani Mitchell

Australian athlete and sports personality Leilani Mitchell plays professional basketball for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. The Phoenix Mercury drafted her with the 25th pick in the 2008 WNBA draft, and she made history by becoming the first WNBA player to win the Most Improved Player Award twice.
On the national level, Leilani plays for her native Australia’s women’s national basketball team. She played for the Opals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where they went up against the US in the knockout stages and lost. Don’t let her fierce competition fool you, she is a sweetheart off the court.
