When you want to talk about ultra-premium watches, Jaeger-LeCoultre is always a brand that will come up. This Swiss company could arguably be called one of the greatest watchmaking companies of all time. They have created the worlds smallest calibre, a timepiece that is in almost near perpetual motion, and one of the most complicated wristwatches of all time, among a list of thousands of other innovations. Their watches can sell for hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars, and one of their standout pieces would be the Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater, better known as the watch that sings to you.
Minute repeaters are a style of watch that were created originally back in a time when electricity had not been invented yet. The watches would play a sound, upon activation, that would indicate the time allowing you to tell the time in the dark. They are also some of the most difficult watches to create. The Jaeger Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater is a modern version of those watches.
Aside from looking absolutely amazing, having a skeleton face that shows the incredible movement, and being made from either gold or titanium, the watches most impressive feature is obviously its minute repeater. On the inside there are a series of tiny crystal gongs, that when activated, play a sound to indicate the time. There is a unique sound for every hour and minute, which is a truly amazing thing considering that they fit all of that inside a wrist watch. We’ve seen a lot of amazing watches before, but this one might be my personal favorite. Only 100 of these bad boys are being made and come in a few different versions like either white gold or rose gold. There’s no denying these are pretty amazing timepieces, and they are certainly expensive as the most affordable ones start at $150,000 dollars. Oh well, guess I better start saving up.
