Seven Mile Beach

5. Walk across Seven Mile Beach

Obviously by the very nature of being an island that is within the Caribbean, there are some pretty amazing beaches here. However the most famous, and arguably most beautiful, beach that the Cayman Islands have to offer would be Seven Mile Beach. The beach is located on the island of Grand Cayman, and it is open as a public beach so you can walk the entire length of the beach regardless of the hotel you are staying in. It’s often been ranked as the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean, so you definitely should visit the next time you’re in the neighborhood.

Stingray City

3. Visit Stingray City

One thing that most people recommend doing in the Cayman Islands is taking a trip to Stingray City. It’s probably the biggest tourist attraction in the area. While tourist attractions can often be annoying, that’s not the case with Stingray City. Essentially Stingray City is a collection of small, shallow sandbars that are out in the North Sound where you can interact with stingrays. They are naturally drawn to this area, and are found in great numbers. Like there are thousands of stingrays here, and given the fact that the water is crystal clear and only a few feet deep, it’s the perfect place to see these creatures in their natural habitat. You’re really mussing out if you come to the Cayman Islands and don’t visit Stingray City.

The Brasserie

2. Eat at The Brasserie

Now there are plenty of great restaurants that are found on the Cayman Islands, but The Brasserie is one that keeps getting mentioned and it on Grand Cayman. It’s not in a massive resort nor is it on the beach at all, but it is consistently ranked as one of the best eating establishments that these islands have to offer. Locals consider it a “secret” and they serve up some quality meals here. It’s located on a small street outside the main area of George Town and it is run and operated by a team of incredible chefs. They offer things like braised lamb shank, fresh muscles, a large tasting menu that periodically changes, a large drink menu, and more. Their seafood changes constantly as well, as the menu depends on what was caught that day. The food is amazing, the service is great, all the ingredients are fresh and local, and the cocktails are strong. It’s definitely worth paying a visit, and their tasting menu gives you a good sense as to what they are all about.

Cayman Spirits Company

1. Take a tour of the Cayman Spirits Company

Another great thing to do in Grand Cayman would be to visit and then take a tour of Cayman Spirits Companies distillery. Caribbean rum is often considered some of the best there is, and you can see how they make rum (and other spirits) at this particular distillery in George Town. They are the islands most famous spirits company, and are a favorite among many. Tours are given periodically throughout the day and are very affordable at only $15 per person. Plus you’ll get to try some of their great drinks. Once your done with the tour, pick up a bottle and then head to the beach for an incredible experience.
