Dubai Becomes World’s Most Busy International Air Hub

Dubai

Dubai is a location that is growing more popular each year and continues to do so at the start of 2015. The city is extremely modern and trying very hard to attract new tourists and people to live in the luxurious destination and it seems like it’s working. Recent news came out that Dubai has overtaken the London Heathrow airport as the top international air hub with a record breaking amount of wide body jets.

The Dubai airport has been seeing a major increase in passengers with their numbers hopping up 6.1 percent to a total of 70.5 million passengers in 2014. Last year, London Heathrow airport only brought in just over 68 million travelers, which is still a large amount but slightly ousted by Dubai. The city has used it’s location as a large advantage; being a central hub between places like Europe, Asia, Africa and even the Middle East and works as a great stopping place for most transfer flights. The airport is still growing too and it is believed that in the future, Dubai could have a hub with the capacity to handle 240 passengers because they have plenty of open space to use up throughout a city still in development.

The goal is to be able to handle massive influxes of passengers and offer them the same quality of luxury service within the airport that they do on their planes. The Dubai airport is looking to dominate the market and have their total passenger amount grow year to year. Dubai is growing very quickly and trying to offer as much as it can as a city to draw in more people whether it’s for vacation or just passing through. The airports are very nice and are only planning on improving and upgrading as they move forward, while an airport like Heathrow is stuck as is.
