Let’s take a Closer Look at the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle

Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle

After signing an endorsement deal with Nike in the 1980’s, Michael Jordan and Nike looked to launch his own line of sneakers. They called it “Air Jordan” and they first launched in 1984. Since then, Air Jordans have become some of the most desirable and sought after shoes on the market, spawning a virtually endless amount of different models. They see around $1 billion in sales each year. As nice as all the various Air Jordans are, one particular model still reigns as king: the Air Jordan 1’s. These were initially the first shoe launched under the Air Jordan name, and they are still the crowd favorite amongst sneakerheads and collectors alike. The newest release to come out are the Air Jordan Pinnacle’s and we are excited to report that they will be seeing a wide release.

The Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle’s initially were first spotted back in February. Then they saw a limited release at one single retail store in Las Vegas back on May 2nd, coinciding with the Mayweather-Pacquio fight. That release has been expanded to a few other select locations, but the shoe will see a much larger release come June 20th.

The Pinnacle’s were created to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the Air Jordan 1, so as you can imagine, they are very special. Made from high-quality leather that looks like a lizards scales, and they are available in either black or off-white. However the most attractive feature about these shoes is the hardware. The logos, badges, tongue, and eyelets are actually made from 24-karat gold-plating and that really makes the shoes pop.

It’s not uncommon for Air Jordans to be made from premium and luxury materials, and it doesn’t get more high-end than having real gold on your feet. The Air Jordan 1 Pinnacles will be initially priced at $400, which is honestly not that bad. To those that aren’t into the sneaker game, they might be expensive, however these shoes are extremely desirable and have a historic significance, and they are made with real gold! The thing is, even though these sneakers will see a wide release, they will still be available in limited quantities. If you want a pair for yourself, you will have to find a local retailer that will be selling them and then wait inline for probably a few days before they are released. These shoes will definitely sell-out when they come out. So if you want them it’s either wait inline for a few days and spend $400, or buy them off eBay for a few thousand. Which would you prefer?
