Five Things You Should Know about Amazon’s Fire Phone

Amazon CEO Bezos Introduces Smartphone to Take on Apple, Samsung

Yesterday Amazon announced that they were dropping the price of their new Fire Phone from $199 to 99 cents for the 32 gb model while the 64 gb phone dropped from $299 to $99. While this move may have been in preparation to keep sales competitive with the announcement of Apple’s iPhone 6, the Fire Phone is still being offered at a great price considering everything you get with the phone. If you’re in the market for a new smart phone, here are five things you should know about the Amazon Fire Phone.

5. It has a 13 MP camera

Pictures have become a huge part of people’s lives whether for work, social media, or sending messages. The Fire Phone comes with a 13 mega pixel camera that has a fast five element wide aperture of 2.0. This allows the phone to take really clean pictures that look great.

4. It comes with 1,000 Amazon Coins

When you buy an Amazon Fire Phone you are also receiving 1,000 Amazon Coins which are worth $10 in value. This can be spent on apps, games, or even in app purchases, so users can get all the apps they need and want for free.

3. Firefly Technology

The firefly button is a nice feature that the Fire phone has. It identifies text on posters, magazines, and business cards and instantly gathers the data on them like addresses, phone numbers, emails, etc. and has it available to use .

2. Owners receive a free year of Amazon Prime

This is actually a very nice part of the deal as well; getting a free year of Amazon Prime with purchase of the Fire Phone. Amazon Prime is now expensive but offers a ton for the price; two day shipping, and over 33 million titles in music, books, audiobooks, and video.

1. The X-Ray technology is pretty neat

The big draw of the Amazon Fire Phone is it’s X-Ray technology that allows phone owners to scan whatever they want and the phone will identify it. This works with any type of media; movies, television, pictures, etc. and is actually a very cool feature.
