Strange Restaurants in US

When you plan to open up a restaurant, you’ve got to consider what type of restaurant you want yours to be. What kind of food will you serve? Will it be fancy, or a casual restaurant? For some restaurant owners they want to create a very unique and different type of atmosphere. Some want to make their restaurants extremely strange and weird. The United States is filled with many great restaurants that offer a variety of different types of cuisines, and some are really weird. We are going to take a look at five of the strangest restaurants in America.

The Airplane Restaurant – Colorado Springs, Colorado

Airplanes, by nature, need to be relatively compact and aerodynamic to achieve flight. We all now how cramped airplanes can be, which is why it would be pretty weird to have a restaurant in one. Well the folks over at The Airplane Restaurant in Colorado seem to think otherwise. They took a 1953 Boeing KC-97 military plane and have turned it into a restaurant. So if you want to dine on an old airplane, this is the place to do it.

The Cave – Richland, Missouri

As the name implies, The Cave is located entirely in a cave in Missouri. It’s actually the only restaurant in America that is located in a cave. Guests can enjoy classic American dishes and Italian cuisine in this unique atmosphere. There is even a waterfall and a pond with fish on the inside.

The Safe House – Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Safe House is one part restaurant and one part spy museum. The restaurant is decorated with spy memorabilia and you even need a secret password to gain entrance into the restaurant. They serve up classic American food that is good, but you definitely come here for the strange atmosphere.

Heart Attack Grill – Las Vegas, Nevada

Obviously Las Vegas is home to some strange restaurants, and Heart Attack Grill is definitely one of them. As the name implies, everything here is done to excess: burgers with four patties, unlimited fries cooked in lard, extra-large milkshakes, and much more. Additionally the strangest thing about this restaurant is that if you weigh over 350 pounds, you get to eat for free. If you finish their 8,000 calorie Quadruple Bypass Burger, a staff member will even take you to your car via a wheel chair.

Magic Room Café – Los Angeles, California

The Magic Room Café serves up fairly traditional Taiwanese dishes, however it is the restaurants atmosphere that is certainly strange. The interior is decorated like a bathroom, and all of the seats are actually toilets. The dishes are even served in tiny bowls that look like toilets.
