The Top Five Best Restaurants in Chicago

The Best Restaurants in Chicago

Chicago is home to a wide array of amazing restaurants that serve up a variety of different cuisines. Outside of New York City, Chicago is definitely one of the major food hubs in the United States. Given that fact, and how there are thousands of restaurants, it can be hard to choose one to visit. We are going to cover the five best restaurants in Chicago according to those that have the best reviews on Trip Advisors.

5. Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak, & Stone Crab

Located on 60 East Grand Avenue is Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak, & Stone Crab. While the first Joe’s Seafood opened up in Miami in 1913, they have expanded and have another restaurant in Chicago. If you are looking for the best seafood in the city, then this restaurant is for you. The restaurant has a fantastic wine selection, and entrees cost on average between $20 and $80 dollars. Some standout dishes are their clam chowder, their stone crab, the block-cut swordfish, and their bone-in rib eye steak.

4. Mexique

Mexique is next up on our list, and it is not your traditional Mexican restaurant. They serve up a variety of dishes that are Mexican with French inspired influences. The result are dishes that are familiar, yet different. Mexique is kind of a fine-dining Mexican restaurant. They are located at 1529 West Chicago Avenue and serve braise pork belly, glazed lamb ribs, Mexican-styled ratatouille, duck tacos, and much more. Prices range from around $10 – $15 dollars.

3. Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe

If you are looking for a great place to have breakfast of brunch, then definitely head on over to Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe located at 130 East Randolph Street. They serve up all of your breakfast favorites in addition to some specialty sandwiches and panini’s. Some favorites include the “Signature Berry Bliss” Pancakes that come with vanilla anglaise, blackberry coulis, berry mascarpone, and fresh berries, their red velvet french toast, and their great omelets. Entrees cost around $10 dollars.

2. Bavtte’s Bar and Boeuf

If you are looking for an upscale steak house in Chicago, then Babette’s is definitely for you. Additionally they have a pretty great bar that serves up some killer cocktails. They are located on 218 West Kinzie and some of their best dishes are their bone-in rib eye steak, the king crab, their filet mignon, the creamed spinach, and their short rib stroganoff. Its a pretty traditional steak house and prices range from $30-$50 dollars on average, but some dishes do cost over $100 dollars.

1. Alinea

Alinea is pretty much one of the best dining experiences that you can have. Its one of those restaurants where they serve you 18 or so courses of cutting-edge food, that is both delicious and artistic. Its located at 1723 North Halsted Street and they serve a variety of different dishes that draw influences from various international cuisines. Their menu is always changing and prices range from $100 to as high as $1,000 dollars (for the full course). Check out their website for some of their featured dishes here, as me describing the dishes will not do them justice.
