Ralph Lauren is known for their dominant handle in the fashion industry and all of the amazing luxury products they put out. The company has spent a long time making fashion related products for men and women, but now it seems like they are finally extending their business into another industry. The company is about to open its first restaurant which will be located in New York City near the Polo flagship store in Midtown.
The Ralph Lauren restaurant will sit on 1 East 55th Street and Fifth Avenue and is planning to be fully up and running by the end of this month. Ralph Lauren is aiming to create a sports club environment that feels like a classy country club and represents everything the company is about. The Polo bar is going to serve traditional American bar food with delicious burgers, steaks, sandwiches and more. They’re not aiming to be overly fancy, but deliver classic meals that they know everyone will love. Claiming that the bar will be mixing, “tradition with flair,” the company doesn’t intend to make any extremely high class dining facility but more wants to be the place people eat at twice a week.
Ralph Lauren already has a restaurant next to his flagship store in Chicago, so this isn’t his first time dealing with a restaurant, but the competition is stiff in New York City. The food seems simple enough but should still be amazing quality and turn the restaurant into a hot food spot of New York City. It’s smart that Ralph Lauren is setting up his eateries right near his flagship stores because it combines the idea of people buying clothes and then sitting down for something to eat. The restaurant should be open any day, so it will be interesting to see whether they can get everything set up in time for the new year.
