When you name a home Le Palais Royale, which is French for “The Royal Palace”, it better be pretty magnificent. Le Palais Royale is a massive property located right on the water in Hillsboro, Florida. It boast all the amenities you could dream of, it has an incredible location, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. And with it’s current listing price of $159 million dollars, it is currently the second most expensive home on the market today.
So what exactly do you get in a home that costs $159 million dollars? The better question to ask is “what don’t you get”, as La Palais Royale seems to have it all. Obviously the location couldn’t be any more ideal for a premium beach house. You’re right on the water, you’ve got your own private beach, and a dock to store your super yacht. With 4.4-acres of land, you also have plenty of room.
The home itself holds true to its name and is essentially a modern palace in every sense of the phrase. The home offers a total of 41,174-square-feet of living space in total, there are eleven bedrooms, and seventeen full bathrooms. In other words, Le Palais Royale has enough bedrooms that your dog can have their own bedroom.
Le Palais Royale has many over-the-top amenities that drive up that incredible asking price. The home has a 4,500-square-foot infinity pool with a waterslide, there’s a hot-tub with a glass floor that overlooks the pool, the marble staircase is worth some $2 million dollars, there’s a private IMAX home theater (according to the Sotheby’s listing, it’s the first in the world), there’s a small go-cart course, a 26-foot fountain, a 120-year-old light fixture from Austria, an underground ice rink, a home bowling alley, and over $3 million dollars of 22-karat gold leaf work that’s found throughout the property.
Combine those features with the home’s palatial interior design, and suddenly you begin to see as to why this home costs $159 million dollars. Additionally the property managers are currently working on constructing two massive guests houses on the property, both of which will offer 3,000-square-feet of space in total. I can’t imagine what type of individual can actually afford a home like this, and all the extra costs that are associated (taxes, home insurance, maintenance costs, etc.) however I’m sure that they are out there.
