The Peace Ranch is a 600 acre property located in the area surrounding Aspen, Colorado that is beautifully set in the mountains and countryside and has everything one could dream of. The land seems to go on forever and there are tons of activities to stay occupied with while living there. The Peace Ranch was originally put onto the market for sale at a price of $49.5 million back in 2012, but wasn’t seeing any bites in the market. Eventually this was dropped down to $39.9 million and had once again failed to find someone to buy it. In a couple of days, on November 6th, the Peace Ranch will be put to auction and sold to the highest bidder no matter what; there is no minimum price point.
The ranch is perfect for outdoorsy people and is filled with tons of different trails, fishing ponds, plenty of Colorado wildlife and more. The surrounding area is a national forest that can only be accessed by traveling through the ranch or climbing a massive mountain, which keeps the property extremely private for its residents. There are five different living spaces throughout the Peace Ranch with a total of 16 bedrooms and 15 baths.
The current owners are selling because they are too busy with other interests and just don’t have the time in their schedules anymore to stay at the ranch, despite how beautiful it is. They purchased the property back in 2003 for a seemingly small $12.5 million, but the couple put $30 million worth of construction into the ranch to make it as magnificent as it is today.
It’s not unusual to see a home of this size and price sit on the market for multiple years, but the current couple are afraid to see it sit empty through another winter once again and would like to find a new owner to take it over. Most of the time properties like of this price go to auction, they are always bought for a massive discount or won’t sell. Although they are sad to see it go, the Peace Ranch will soon find a new owner to fill in the current emptiness.
