Boeing is one of the most well-known aircraft manufacturers in the world. The company’s market cap is well about $91.85 billion. In terms of orders and revenue, it’s the largest manufacturer of airplanes in the world. In addition to that, it’s the second largest defense contractor. The company has been around since William E. Boeing founded it in 1916, and it’s got a long history of building expensive airplanes.
777-8X – $349.8 million
The 8X is the new version of the 200ER. This plane will be the longest-range passenger jet in the world. It is currently on sale for $349.8 million. What makes this jet unique and worthwhile is the fact that it’s designed to travel long distances without the need to refuel. In fact, it can travel 9,500 miles without refueling.
747-8 – $351.4 million
It has three classes and seats 467 passengers on any given flight. It’s bigger than many planes, and its long-distance abilities are impressive. The 747-8 can travel approximately 8000 miles at a time. It’s also one of the most economic planes on the market, which is just one reason Boeing asks so much for this particular model.
747-8 Cargo – $352 million
Just a little more expensive than the 747-8, this is the cargo version. The 8 cargo is very similar to the passenger version, but very different at the same time. Its ability to travel long distances is not as impressive as the passenger plane. However, cargo is always weightier than passengers.
777-9X – $377.2 million
The 9X was designed to compete with an Airbus. Its best feature is the fact that this plane seats 400 passengers, which makes it a profitable purchase for any airline. The airplane also has a larger wing span and engines that are more powerful. It’s expected to sell more than its kind-of sister plane, the 8X.
YAL-1 – $700 million
This particular Boeing plane is designed exclusively for use by the US Air Force. Its design is perfect for what the military needs to transport goods and soldiers, as well as operate in enemy territory. The price is reflective of the many additional safety and defense features that the plane is equipped with.
