The $525 Harley-Davidson Men’s FXRG Modular Helmet

A Harley-Davidson Dealership

Last year, iconic motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson introduced the FXRG collection of riding clothes and accessories, including jackets, liners, pants, gloves, kidney belts, and helmets. According to Harley-Davidson, the “FXRG collection is known by riders as the best, most innovative, and functional riding gear you can find. From helmets and jackets, to gloves and boots, FXRG means high-performance head-to-toe protection. Night or day, hot or cold, wet or dry, FXRG handles it all.” Included in the FXRG collection is the men’s FXRG Modular Helmet, the most expensive helmet currently offered by Harley-Davidson with a retail price of $525. The FXRG Modular Helmet (pictured below) is “extremely quiet, even at high speeds and has the convenience of a retractable sun shield that deploys quickly and easily with one touch.” The strong and lightweight DOT-certified helmet features advanced carbon fiber, aramid, and fiberglass construction, a one-touch integrated tinted sun shield that deploys quickly and easily, an anti-scratch shield including Pinlock 100 percent Max Vision, a fog-resistant insert, an innovative center one-touch locking system, a RapidFire shield replacement system for quick and secure removal and installation, and a washable and moisture wicking Cool4Ever interior. Not only is the FXRG Modular Helmet the most expensive Harley-Davidson helmet, but it’s also one of the most comfortable and advanced helmets on the market.

Harley-Davidson Inc. is an American motorcycle manufacturer founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin during the first decade of the 20th century by William S. Harley, Arthur Davidson, Walter Davidson, and William A. Davidson. The company was one of only two major American motorcycle manufacturers–Indian being the other–to survive the Great Depression. Since 1977, the only motorcycles sold to the public under the Harley-Davidson brand have been heavyweight motorcycles designed for highway cruising, with engine displacements greater than 700 cc. While Harley-Davidson’s attempts to establish itself in the light motorcycle market have met little success and have largely been abandoned since the 1978 sale of its Italian subsidiary, the company re-entered the middleweight market in the 2015 model year with its Street series of motorcycles. Harley-Davidson motorcycles, or “Harleys,” are noted for the tradition of heavy customization that gave rise to the popular chopper style of motorcycle, while the iconic brand has also been associated with the outlaw motorcycle subculture cultivated in the 1960s, most notably in the classic 1969 film Easy Rider. Licensing of the Harley-Davidson brand and logo accounted for 0.8 percent ($40 million) of the company’s net revenue in 2010, while the company’s current market cap stands at $14.38 billion.
