The 2015 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is a Classic American Throwback

The 2015 Harley-Davidson Iron 883

As a part of iconic American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson’s all-new 2015 model year lineup, the 2015 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is a classic throwback that is arguably considered one of the most authentic Harley-Davidson models on the market today. The Iron 883–“a blacked-out bruiser”–is a “raw, aggressive throwback” developed for old school riders that’s impressively stylish, strong, and downright imposing. Powered by an air-cooled 883 cc Evolution (aka Blockhead) engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection, the Iron 883 cranks out a maximum torque of 70 Nm at 3,750 rpm and is paired with a closed loop exhaust system that features a big twin design, durable mufflers with exhaust shields, a catalyst, and mini heated oxygen sensors that still produce that trademark Harley-Davidson rumble. Featuring classic Harley-Davidson performance, power, and handling, the Iron 883 also features lowered front and rear suspensions, a low, narrow solo seat, and a pair of Michelin Scorcher tires complete with a deep-cut tread design. Not only does the Iron 883 provide traditionally reliable performance, but its classic Harley-Davidson styling, combined with innovative technology, helps to create one of the most authentic and impressive Sportsters ever.

The modern, yet classic, Iron 883 features a number of authentic custom stylings, including a side-mounted license plate, stop-turn tail lights, a blacked-out look completely void of chrome, a classic 12.5-liter peanut fuel tank, a drag-style handlebar, 13-spoke cast aluminum wheels, mid-mounted controls and rider foot pegs, and four custom paint finishes: Brilliant Silver Pearl, Sand Cammo Denim, Black Denim, or the all-new Hard Candy Custom Quicksilver Flake. Even though the Iron 883 is as classic as they come, the motorcycle also features a number of hidden innovative technologies, including the factory installed next-generation H-D Smart security system, an overhauled foundation brake system, ergonomic hand controls, an integrated electrical system, a tach and gear indicator readout, and optional anti-lock brakes. With a suggested retail price starting at only $8,399, the Iron 883’s luxury rests more in its pure and untamed nostalgia as a classic throwback to a reliably authentic American brand. Founded in 1903 by William S. Harley, Arthur Davidson, Walter Davidson, and William A. Davidson, Harley-Davidson Inc. is one of only two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression (the other being Indian) and has a current market cap of $14.15 billion.
