Mikimoto is a Japanese based jewelry company that is known throughout the world as a producer of high end jewelry that primarily concerns itself with pearls. The company got its origins back in the late 1800’s when Mikimoto Kōkichi was credited as the first man to produced cultured pearls, which then helped launched the pearl industry as a whole. The first Mikimoto shop opened up in 1899 in the Ginza district of Tokyo. From there the company continued to expand internationally and is now known throughout the world as the prominent leader in pearl-related jewelry. The company produces a variety of necklaces, pendants, earrings, and bracelets that all feature various pearls however a few reign on top as the most expensive. We are going to take a look at the top 5 most expensive items that Mikimoto sells.

5. Baroque Tempo Necklace – $84,000

The first item on our list is a necklace produced by Mikimoto. This necklace has 12, 15mm baroque Black South Sea cultured pearls located across the span of the 51 inch necklace. Additionally there are 14.93cts of pavè diamonds in a variety of organic shapes that are positioned all over the necklace. The chain itself is made of 18kt white gold which goes extremely well with the silver/graphite colored pearls and the diamonds.

4. White South Sea Earrings with Diamonds – $127,000

With a high price tag of $127,000, the White South Sea Earrings are the next items on our list. These elegant earrings feature 16mm White South Sea cultured pearls that are adorned with 6.8ct of diamonds. The rest of the earrings themselves are made from platinum.

3. Bijoux Bulle Ring – $130,000

Next up on our list of the most expensive Mikimoto pieces is a ring. The Bijoux Bulle Ring is a large ring that contains one massive 18mm White South Sea cultured pearl that has 5.38ct of diamonds all around it, that are attached to the ring made of 18kt white gold. This ring is anything but subtle as the pearl is very large.

The Cherry Blossom Necklace is a beautiful necklace that is made of multiple 12.9mm White South Sea cultured pearls that features an 18kt white gold, diamond, and pink sapphire cherry blossom that is located at the end of the necklace. The necklace is 16 inches in length.

Costing more than nearly every current model of car that Aston Martin produces are the Bijoux Bulle Earrings which are priced at $190,000 dollars. These earrings feature a 18mm White South Sea cultured pearl in each earring which are then adorned with 3.5ct of diamonds that are set in 18kt white gold. While these earrings are elegantly subtle, their price tag certainly isn’t.
