Custom Gretsch Guitars That Will Run You At Least $10,000

Gretsch Guitars

Founded in 1883, Gretsch is a well established American company that produces guitars, bass guitars, and drum kits. They have a large line up of instruments, and offer them at a variety of different price points. The instruments are used by many professional and famous musicians, and have been for many years. While initially getting their start producing percussion instruments, their guitars are some of their most prized instruments. Their custom shop instruments are their flag ship instruments, and they are made by hand in the United States and are released in limited numbers. We are going to take a look at three of their custom shop guitars that are available right now, and they all cost at least $10,000 dollars.

The Faclon ’55 Relic Guitar – $10,000

The first guitar we have is the Falcon ’55 Relic Guitar from the Gretsch Custom Shop. The Falcon series guitars are easily their most famous line of guitars, and the were first mass produced in 1955. These hollow bodied guitars produce a classic 1950’s rock and roll sound which are extremely bright. The guitar is built from hand and is made from solid maple. The guitar features an ebony fretboard, 22 frets with Mother-of-Pearl inlays, two dynasonic humbucker pickups, a three-way pick up selector, and knobs that control the volume and tone of the pickups. The signature Falcon icon is also found on the pick guard of this beautiful guitar.

The 6120 DSW ’55 Relic Guitar – $10,200

Next up we have this orange beauty. This guitar was built in the same what that famous country music singer and guitar player Chet Atkins preferred back in the day. The guitar is made from maple with a high gloss finish, and has a rosewood fretboard with western motif block inlays. The guitar has two Dynasonic DeArmond pickups from Duncan and a tremolo bridge. The guitar sounds extremely bright and is perfect for achieving that country twang.

The 10th Anniversary Duo Jet NOS Guitar – $10,500

The last guitar we are going to look at is the Duo Jet NOS Guitar. This guitar was custom built to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the Gretsch custom shop, so naturally they have only made 10. The guitar features a laminated maple top with a beautiful red pearloid finish, a chambered mahogany body, a mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard, perloid bindings, a Synchro-Sonic bridge, two Seymour Duncan pickups, and a silver pick guard with the 10-year anniversary logo on it. Since this guitar is produced in such a limited quantity, it will only increase in value.
